Steffen Zimmermann studied business informatics and began his career in 2000 at VDMA, Europe’s largest industry association. Since 2018 he heads the Competence Center Industrial Security at VDMA. He is the founder and chair of sectoral expert committees on Information Security, OT Security, and Product Security. As head of the Cybersecurity Task Force of the European... umbrella organization Orgalim, he is a member of the Expert Group CRA of the European Commission. In August 2025, he was appointed ad personam to the Advisory Group of ENISA.
