Nic Miller, former CISO, Brevan Howard, Virtual CISO

Currently​ ​a​ ​virtual​ ​CISO​ ​at​ ​Aedile​ ​Consulting,​ ​Nic​ ​founded​ ​the company​ ​in​ ​2017​ ​to​ ​provide​ ​light​ ​touch,​ ​affordable​ ​consultancy to​ ​startups​ ​and​ ​small​ ​businesses. Previously​ ​Nic​ ​was​ ​the​ ​CISO​ ​at​ ​Brevan​ ​Howard,​ ​a​ ​large​ ​global hedge​ ​fund​ ​based,​ ​for​ ​3​ ​years.​ ​During​ ​this​ ​time​ ​he​ ​sat​ ​on industry​ ​panels​ ​and​ ​helped​ ​author​ ​non-technical​ ​cyber​ ​security guidance​ ​for​ ​advisory​ ​bodies.​ ​He​ ​also​ ​established​ ​a​ ​working group​ ​for​ ​sharing​ ​best​ ​practise​ ​and​ ​threat​ ​related​ ​information between​ ​industry​ ​peers. Nic​ ​began​ ​his​ ​career​ ​at​ ​GCHQ​ ​working​ ​as​ ​a​ ​cyber​ ​security​ ​analyst,​ ​investigating​ ​nation​ ​state actors​ ​conducting​ ​global​ ​espionage​ ​campaigns.​ ​In​ ​addition​ ​to​ ​working​ ​to​ ​disrupt​ ​advanced threat​ ​actors,​ ​he​ ​spent​ ​time​ ​working​ ​on​ ​improving​ ​and​ ​automating​ ​analytic​ ​capability.
